Over 7,000 Pastors Admit They Don’t Follow Jesus

If this isn't the height of deceitful xtian hypocrisy, I don't know what is.

This is from Patheos, not the Friendly Atheist subsection. And of course the other true-xtians are going batshit.....

Over 4,400 pastors signed John MacArthur’s “Anti-Social Justice Proclamation” a few weeks ago. Over 7,000 have now added their names to that statement, making it crystal clear that they do not follow Jesus in any way, shape or form.

One of the most troubling statements they all agreed to was this:

“We emphatically deny that lectures on social issues (or activism aimed at reshaping the wider culture) are as vital to the life and health of the church as the preaching of the gospel and the exposition of Scripture.”

If that isn’t sad, I don’t know what is.

Not only is it disappointing to read the news that 7,000 Christian Pastors don’t follow Jesus, it’s even more disappointing to find out that none of them are ashamed to admit it in public.
Just sounds like 7000 xtians are slightly less dishonest than the rest.

How can you be a Christian pastor and not follow Jesus?
Oh yeah, I remember - by being an atheist in real life.

    There's a pattern emerging here.

It's their very insistence on using legislation to force others to live by their beliefs within our culture that has caused the hemorrhaging of members, power and money that we see today. Instead of facing this reality, they blame secularism, homosexuality, race, and women for their issues, which only exacerbates their problem. Now, they have all but become a safe haven for bigots.

That is one definition of religion. They all teach that theirs is the only true one, and all the others are bad/sinful/pagan, and their members are damned...or even deserving of violence and death. Bigotry is ingrained in the very fabric of religions.

    What?

So, they're followers of Jake Christ?

They're still Christians, right? Or, so they claim. Just not Jesus. They don't follow that Jesus wienie.

No, no. Signing MacArthur's little screed is NOT an admission of atheism, or even apostasy.
THEY think they are uniting forces in the name of Jesusoursavior.

The blogger thinks the signees are full of themselves. He feels that their stance, opposing Social Justice Warriors, is not christ-like, at least thry a re not Christains the way Keith Giles thinks Jesus would want.

No atheism here, just believers calling eaxh other heretics.

Yup. They should ask LionIRC about the elephant metaphor that indicates that even Hindus are to be counted amongst the true Christians.

As usual, you have nothing of substance to say. So you make a snide dig at atheists and scamper away.

And the irony is the existence of people like him is exactly why there is any atheist movement in the first place. We're not going to put up with that bullshit.

There have always been Christians lining up to spit on Jesus' grave. Like an abusive teenager with a girlfriend who deserves better, they "love" him for his body, not his mind.
