    Morality and law

    There are 3 possible positions:

    1) There exists a magical being called "God" that is the source of all morality and law.
    2) There is no "God" therefore there is no morality or law and one is free to do anything one wants.
    3) Morality and law are emergent properties that arise whenever you have large numbers of people interacting with one another.

A moral person is a person with sufficient objectivity to understand that the universe does not revolve around their ego.
A civilized society is a society whose laws do not revolve around any one person or any one group of people.
The more a society treats everyone as equals the more civilized it is.

Civilization is my country. Objectivity is my religion

If a god exists with powers it is not magic.

    Humans are social animals.

They are born with a social instinct, a social need.

The more people you know well the more you know.

It is very advantageous to have allies in the fight for survival against large predators, including other humans.

Humans have morality for themselves and their group but lack morality for the other.

Which is how horrible things happen, like the US attack of Iraq in 2003.

Millions of Americans had no problem attacking and killing the other, even though these others had done nothing.

Morality that does not include the other is a primitive morality.

It is not a contemplative morality that rises above instinct.

If it is not magic then it is not a god. It would be a person with lots of power

    No such thing.

    If it's a god it's not magic.

What about Loki? He's a god and he does magic. Your definition of gods seems to exclude a subset of gods and is therefore a poor definition.
