    Jeremy Hardy died

Okay, so he's not the most famous comedian (or even the second most famous), but I always enjoyed his humour. Never one to go for the popular laugh, he put his principles into his work, which meant some very left-wing comedy (like the time he was booed on Just A Minute for using the subject "Parasites" to talk about the royal family). A regular on I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue, he was famous for his singing voice (or lack thereof), leading to some hilarious rounds of "One song to the tune of another". He probably should have been better-known, but in the end it's really only listeners to radio comedy - BBC Radio 4 in particular - who'll notice he's gone. Like me. My world's a little sadder today.

I really liked his humour. He will be sadly missed.

It's also quite alarming to realise how close to his age I am. He was only 57.
