    Can anyone ID this flower?

    Tentative identification: California Poppy.

Found on the Dante's Ridge trail, Death Valley, California. (Note that this is about 6,000' above sea level, given the wind and our slow pace I never removed my windbreaker. It is not the hellish temperatures of the valley floor.)

    The Authoritarians

GOP and Trump supporters will not be able to say they didn't know. Vote in numbers too big to manipulate.

That's a mariposa lily, genus calochorta. Bulbs are edible, and were popular in traditional cuisine and medicine.
