They are merely saying the opposite of "shame" to contradict the message of the bigots who have attacked and shamed them their whole lives and beaten, murdered, and denied basic human rights to other homosexuals for centuries. When a person who says "proud to be straight" they don't have that context of being constantly shamed for being heterosexual, so they cannot mean "un-ashamed". They have the context of being part of the group that has attacked and shamed non-straight people for centuries and has never themselves been systematically attacked being straight. So, the only thing they could mean by "Proud to be straight" is "I'm proud that I am not a shameful homosexual."
But even in that context, there is nothing to be "proud of." Gay people can not reproduce. If everyone was gay, the human race would die out. There can be no gay people without straight people. Homosexuality would die out if it wasn't for straight people, yet they vilify the very people who bring them into existence! It's backwards logic!

Why? Straight couples sometimes use sperm donation. Is that unnatural too! Cannot have a double standard now, can we?

Not to mention Elton John’s, and Ricky Martin’s!

I am now off to work where I can have serious discussions with 11 year olds! Well, more serious than this one at any rate!

What gay person has ever "villified" a straight one??? It generally goes the other way around, if at all.

If you think it is wrong to villify people, why are you referring to people who have done you no wrong as though living their own lives and minding their own business is somehow going to end the human race? We don't need every viable couple to reproduce, a few people practicing homsexuality expands the pool of responsible parents without contributing to overpopulation, an overall benefit.

Your computer is unnatural. The Internet is unnatural. For some reason you keep using them.

    Why?
    To shift the goalpost.
He said nothing about natural, just reproduction. Slammed in the face with reality, half turns and runs away. He bravely ran away.
When rebuttal rears its ugly head, he bravely kicked his heels and fled.

You didn't know gay men or women can and do procreate with anybody else with the right parts, whether straight or gay?

You really better get on your parents to have the talk with you.

Yeah, it's hard for prudes to answer such questions. That's the prudes' problem, society is not at fault.

If you can't reasonably address your kid's questions you shouldn't be having kids in the first place.
Yeah, because all parents when a kid asks them that question say, "Just put your penis into the girl's vagina."
That wouldn't be an answer to any reasonable question. Sex is a lot more than just putting one's penis into a vagina.

However, there are questions to which something akin to this could be part of the answer. And by the time that could be part of an answer they should know the words "penis" and "vagina".

Gay people can't reproduce? Some years ago I knew a lesbian couple that was pregnant.

And gay people don't vilify straight people. They don't have much use for attitudes such as yours but you don't represent all straight people by any means.
