    Everything is racist: Spongebob edition

College professor says 'SpongeBob SquarePants' is violent and racist

Reminds me of "Teletubbies gay agenda" idiocy of ~20 years ago ...

Even if this were true and the writer wasn’t writing a humor piece, “Breaking! Some people have outlandish ideas!”

Good luck finding consensus on it.

A university professor published an article critiquing the implications of well-known facts about a television show. No legally relevant action was taken or recommended as a result of the article. News media blow it up and use catchy headlines to make the claim seem more extreme. Just another day in conservative-land.

Spongebob is great. I've watched a few episodes, and I admit, once or twice it was on purpose. Yes - it's violent and I've been shocked. But a lot better than things would be for any organism actually inhabiting a pineapple under the sea for any duration.
It certainly wouldn't have any pets or a job in a restaurant ...

It will encourage violent incels. Ban it!
