Yup. I'd say there are still half as many hikes in the groups I follow than there used to be. All of the leaders I have the most respect for have canceled their hikes. In theory hiking could be safe, but around here maintaining social distancing isn't feasible.

How will 'this quarantine' be effective in places there is no such restriction? how will we know, if we still don't have enoigh test kits to truly map our current position? What will be used to say 'cases are declining'? Tarot? Ouija? Scrying in mirrors?
By April 1, we will see a steady downstream and be on our way out.
How? How will we see it? We aren't testing anyone unless they show symptoms or appear on national television.
Describe, please, the path firward to acquiring these crucial metrics you are predicting. Show your sources (and be sure to identify any major arcana in your research reporting).
We will see it--hospital admissions will drop.

Where he's going wrong is thinking that it will stay down after things are opened up.
The asshole just said, as in this evening he said it, that some places could open up now.

He needs to go! 25th Amendment now!

    Titled link for Jimmy Higgins:
FACT CHECK: Trump Said Testing Doesn't Need To Happen Everywhere, But It Does : Coronavirus Live Updates : NPR
The president talks frequently about letting certain parts of the country get back to work. But if that is allowed to happen when the number of cases is still growing, those communities could well find themselves in the same situation as New York, Washington and parts of the San Francisco Bay Area, where the disease continues to spread.
McCarthy opposes unanimous consent on $2T coronavirus response | TheHill
House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) said he doesn’t believe the House should attempt to pass the Senate’s $2 trillion coronaviruses stimulus package via unanimous consent, arguing that it should be debated and members should be on the record with their votes.
No hint as to whether he was concerned about how troublesome it would be to travel to DC to vote in person. A concern that AOC had expressed.

Makes sense. There's no point in resuscitation unless the underlying problem that caused it can be addressed quickly.

Gov. Tate Reeves Signs New Executive Order to Slow the Spread of COVID-19 | Jackson Free Press | Jackson, MS
Governor Orders Limited Gatherings, Declares Most Businesses 'Essential,' Supersedes Local Safety Efforts | Jackson Free Press | Jackson, MS
Mississippians must avoid non-essential gatherings of 10 people or more.

Suspending dine-in services at restaurants and bars across the state, instructing them to use drive-thru, take-out, or delivery services to get people food.

Mississippians must not to visit hospitals, nursing homes, or long-term care facilities.

Directing businesses to allow every employee possible to work from home.

Defining essential businesses to give clear guidance to partners at the local level and ensure no essential services are closed.
So that overriding is not as horrible as I had feared.

This is blatant homophobia. You are using homosexuality as an insult.

You guys need to watch out for that before claiming you are the tolerant ones.
Once again, you fail your Turing Test.

Which is ironic in this context, given that Turing was a victim of genuine homophobia, despite being a war hero - indeed, it's possible that he was the single individual most responsible for the allied victory in Europe. Yet he was abused to the point of suicide by the very nation he had helped the most.

Of course, you don't actually give two shits about homophobia, unless you can use it in an attempt to deflect well deserved criticism of your pathetically sycophantic attitude towards Trump.

Did you just say that only men can be Trump supporters?

    no, it is not.

    how?
A homosexual would (hypothetically) suck Trump's dick because they enjoyed it. Like those Trump-supporting women who wore 'he can grab my pussy' t-shirts.
The insult suggests that you are sucking Trump's dick because Trump enjoys it.
    Not you.
So, it works as an insult if you are hetroseckshul.
With Trump's dick on your mouth.
    For his pleasure, not yours.
Because the charge is being an ideological whore for Trump's benefit, not a homoseckshul.

    Dontry to keep up, Halfie.
Also, your efforts to turn the tables might be more effective if you EVER came to the defense of the gays for any reason besides to attack librrrals for being insufficiently progressive.

Just about everyone in this forum supports your right to suck dick; you were being ridiculed for sucking that particular dick.

Where he's going wrong is thinking that it will stay down after things are opened up.
He's way wronger than that. This is the most egregious, most shocking case of abnegation of responsibility by an American president in history.
April 1 is one week from your post Loren. On the day you wrote that there were 247 new deaths in America, 68,211 cases and only 394 recovered.
Hospital admissions are no metric; they will drop to zero when they are so overwhelmed that they cannot physically admit any more patients.
(As I finished that sentence, my cell phone freaked out with the "Amber Alert" screech warning - we are now under a "stay at home" order.)

Even if truly stringent, nationwide orders were immediately issued and enforced we would see a peak number of cases over a half million in the US. Under Trumpcare we will see millions. The trumpsucking morons who go out celebrating on April 1 or on Easter Sunday are doing their genocidal part in advancing the biggest, baddest reality show in history:
    The Trump Eugenics Program.

Anyone who thinks this curve is going to head down in one week, is obviously deluded:

Their ilk will ensure that when the second wave comes around late this summer (this winter in the southern hemisphere), we will reach another similar peak.

It's fairly obvious that Halfie doesn't have a 401K, or I'd be asking him how it's doing.
