The good news appears to be with so many elderly vaccinated, the death rates have plummeted even with the large rise in cases. So, until an uber deadly version of the disease the issue will be hospitalization numbers, which again will likely not be as bad with the elderly immunized. The only issue there, though, is with states just not caring now, there are almost no mitigations in place to inhibit transmission.

The sad news is those with compromised immune systems, they'll need to lock themselves indoors for the next half a year, while the freedom spreaders help continue making it unsafe for them to be outdoors. Sorry cancer patients. Oh, and Americans wanting to go to Canada where cases are dropping, and if Delta is spreading among the vaccinated... *sigh*

Bad news for the left wing authoritarians and lockdown zealots as England lifts covid restrictions and thousands flock to bars and nightclubs.

Thousands of eager revellers across England have piled onto dance floors for the first time since March last year without being required to provide Covid passports or negative test results. Face masks are also no longer legally required, and with social distancing rules shelved, there are no limits on people attending. Venues including Fabric, E1, Ministry of Sound and Egg nightclubs in London, Pryzm in Bristol, Powerhouse Night Club in Newcastle and Moon Acre in Dorset re-opened on the stroke of midnight - the very second that most legal restrictions on social contact were removed. It's 'the moment we've been waiting for, that our customers have been waiting for,' said Tristan Moffat, operations director of London music venue The Piano Works, ahead of the deadline.

Meanwhile, the PM is in isolation, as he is an immediate contact of a known new case - the known new case in question being the fucking Health Minister.

Seriously, if you wrote this shit as satire, it would be rejected as too implausible.

The existence of moronic decisions that are going to totally fuck up the United Kingdom is cause for celebration amongst both Brexit supporters and Covid deniers.

Meanwhile those of us who get our information from sources other than the Daily Fail are unable to believe that this level of destruction could be wreaked on a developed nation in such short order.

The UK was fucked. Now it's double fucked.

In other news, Katie Hopkins has been deported from Australia for being a fucking moron. Even our idiotic and incompetent Commonweath Government have decided that British Tory insanity is too far beyond the pale. That's pretty fucking damning.

Now we're queueing up to join a queue for Sinopharm vaccine. I don't know if this is pay-in-advance as was the queue for Moderna (maybe) in January (maybe) which we've already joined.

Vaccine mismanagement is now the major charge against our military dictator. People are clamoring to restore the Shinawatra dynasty!

The largest hospital in our North-Central region has now shut its Emergency Room ("except for emergencies" ) due to Covid cases among medical staff. I used to watch the TV series ER; it was a big deal when they "closed Trauma."

There is a shortage of hospital beds in Bangkok. The new terminal at Suvarnabhumi International Airport is being turned into a 5000-bed field hospital.

Boris Johnson is effectively removing the floodgates during the flood, while the waters are rising. The UK Covid-19 plan is "Stupid has to work some time... right?"

Well, as bilby said, you could, you'd just be laughed out of the room. It wouldn't be a satire or even slapstick.

It's bad for anyone who cares about the well being of others. World health experts are absolutely stunned at Johnson's action not just for concern about residents of the UK but also for the world given that London is a global travel hub.

Time to cut off travel from Europe again?
When conservatives realize they cannot win democratically, they will not abandon conservatism. They will abandon democracy.

Poverty exists not because we cannot feed the poor but because we can't satisfy the rich.

The US is surging as well, thanks to people that just think this is a joke... meanwhile the Dow says it isn't laughing.

We could have shut this down spring 2020. Nope.

Could have kept the curve flattened. Also nope. FREEDOM!!!

Finally have the vaccine. We can protect ourselves from it. Nope.

The US plan seems to be hybrid. People with brains get vaccinated, the remainder of America goes herd immunity via catch and spread.

I want to go to Canada and I can't because too many Americans are blithering idiots!

This shouldn't be a surprise. He waited way too long to act on Covid-19 last year. The guy is an idiot and a liar. He helped propel the lunacy of how much money Britain would save in Brexit.
