    Mac OS totally wasting space on USB drives and SD cards

    First I am not sure about which system Mac OS is using for GB, the base 10 or base 2 version, which is 1.073 times bigger than base 10 IIRC.

    Holy crap, I just got a new 64 GB SD card and I added what seems to be 33.6 GB of media to it. When the card was blank it had 63.83 GB of free space. Now it has not roughly 63.8-33.6 = 30.2 GB free space but rather 23 GB free space. What happened to 7 GB of free space?

    There are 3 hidden folders:
    .fseventsd = 221 Kb
    .Spotlight-V100 = 41 MB
    .Trashes = 0 bytes

    I think that there are more folders hidden somehow...
